Doctrinal Statement
We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness. It is our complete statement of faith and our supreme and final authority in doctrine, faith, life, and ministry. Proverbs 30:5; 2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:20,21
We see the following proclaimed in the Bible and believe that:
o there is one God, the Almighty and Most Merciful Father, creator of heaven and earth. 1 Corinthians 8:6. Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29; 1 Timothy 2:5; Genesis. 1:1; Exodus 34:6
o his eternal Word, through whom he created the world, was conceived in the virgin Mary by his Holy Spirit and became a human being, Jesus Christ, who is the one Lord and Master. John 1:1-3,14; Hebrews 1:2; Matthew 1:20,25; 1 Corinthians 8:6, Jude 4, Acts 2:36.
o Jesus has both divine and human nature, lived a perfect, sinless life, taught about God’s kingdom, healed the sick, raised the dead, and is the only mediator and intercessor between God and humankind. Colossians 1:15; John 1:14; Hebrews 4:15, 7:26-29; Matthew 13, John 9, 11; 1 Timothy 2:5; Romans 8:34
o Jesus died on the cross as the Lamb of God for the sins of humankind, was buried, was resurrected from the dead on the third day, and ascended to God in heaven, having triumphed over death and the devil. 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; John 1:29; 1 Peter 3:22; Hebrews 2:14,15; Colossians 2:14
o Jesus will return in glory as the judge of the living and the dead. John 5:28,29; Matthew 16:27, 25:31-46
o everyone has sinned and rebelled against God, incurring His wrath, and that faith and trust in Jesus is the only way to salvation and eternal life. Romans 3:23; John 3:36; John 14:6; Acts 4:12
o everyone who believes and trusts in Jesus is born into God’s family, justified, receives forgiveness, and receives the gift of the Holy Spirit. John 1:14; John 3:3,5; Romans 8:1; Ephesians 1:7; Acts 2:38
o the Holy Spirit lives in the believers, empowers them to live a holy life and leads them into all the truth. 1 Peter 1:3; Romans 5:1; Acts 2:38; Romans 15:16; John 16:13, 14:17
o all followers of Jesus have been called out of darkness into the kingdom of God and should grow individually and with one another into the likeness of Jesus, witnessing and shining as lights to those around them. 1 Peter 2:9; Colossians 1:13; 2 Peter 3: 18; Hebrews 10:24,25; Romans 8:29; Acts 1:8; Matthew 5:16
